The author collected qualitative data from comprehensive age, gender and demographic range samples worldwide, analysing existing quantitative research, comparing with neuroscience and evaluating individual psychological triggers. What makes it even more interesting is that the book also reveals cultural and traditional perceptions of love, how it matures, what changes over time, and why.
The author researches study topics like lust, love, sex, marriage, divorce, infidelity and losing a loved one. What to look for in a partner? Does love at first sight exist? Why do people cheat? Is monogamy even natural? A combination of all aspects of love.
You will learn that love isn't something you can possess; instead, it's a mature decision and ongoing work of TWO people towards a long, happy relationship. I loved the chapter when I learned how easy it is to eliminate wrong-partner matches. The analyses of childhood trauma and adults' personalities, which approvingly links to attachment styles. Addictive and thought-provoking. Now, you need to find out the rest yourself. Now go on and treat yourself to this excellent read.
Enjoy!
